2007 Rehoboth ASP Mission

The week of July 15, 2006, Rehoboth will be taking a mission team to West Virginia as a part of the Appalachian Service Project. If you are interesting in being a member of the mission team, email the Rehoboth Web Ministry at rehobothumc@gmail.com and we will forward your request to Zach Winters, or you can talk to Zach anytime at church.

Even if you are not able to be on the mission team, you can participate in one of the ASP fund raisers (check your bulletin and newsletter) or make a donation. Email us at rehobothumc@gmail.com or talk to Zach Winters.

Website Updates

The Google search bar is working. There is a bit of a problem with getting recent search results for our site, which should change when Google crawls our site again. This should take no more than another week or so. Because the last website was updated so rarely, Google only searches our site monthly.

The history pages are on their way and should be up, once we find the best way to present the information. We are considering posting the information as a group of web pages, or as an e-Book. If you have a preference, let us know.

Media pages are still a work in progress, but most of the issues have been resolved.

As always, feel free to give us any suggestions or criticisms.

Rehoboth Website News:

We're working on some upgrades to the Rehoboth Website; one is already at work, one is in progress, and the other should be up in a week or so.

First, all the pages on the RUMC site have a Google Search bar at the bottom. You can use this tool to search just our site, or the internet.

Secondly, we are uploading the audio for the September 17 service. If this works as it should, new sermon audio can be added each week.

Third, we are working on restoring the History pages from the old website.

If there are any other features you miss from the old site, or want to see brand-spanking new, email us at rehobothumc@gmail.com.
"Then Job answered the Lord: 'I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.'"
Job 42: 1
IT IS VERY EASY for us to think that we can control the course of life and God's creation. The Lord did give us dominion over a lot. But Job's realization at the end of the book that bears his name was profound: no purpose of God's can be thwarted. Remember that in the middle of successes and failures, good days and bad. The best thing we can do is try to ride God's wave of the Holy Spirit as He carries the world where God is leading. The Lord can do all things...and purpose of yours (Lord) can be thwarted.
THIS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 29TH we will have an "Altar Call Sunday," meaning that during worship the altar will be opened with an invitation to come for prayer, healing, dedication, rededication, anointing with oil for healing and thanksgiving. I'll be preaching a message from Job 42: 1-6 and 10-17 called "And They Lived HAPPILY EVER AFTER." Shannon Draper will be doing special music during both services, so it's definitely worth your time to be in God's house this Sunday at Rehoboth. You're invited, and I'll see YOU there.
PLEASE CONTINUE PRAYING ABOUT THE 1000 VOICES VISION. Monday night we spent time as a Church Council sharing our views and understandings with each other, but God's leading and provision is what we need most. Satan is placing many obstacles in front of us, but he will not be victorious over the things of God. Let's keep praying and being faithful as we look forward to what the Lord has for us.
GREAT DINNER: last Saturday's dinner gave us the opportunity to serve 712 meals. Praise God for a great day of service, work, fellowship and love. May our witness reach someone in need of God's family.
THE SUNDAY 4 PM BIBLE STUDY IS OUTSTANDING! An open group has been gathering there studying Jeremiah and sharing things to help us be better disciples of Christ Jesus. You're invited to join us if you feel called to know more of God's Word.
HAVE A BLESSED WEEKEND and a wonderful walk with Jesus in your life!
Love, Pastor Jim

New RUMC Website!

Good news! The new Rehoboth Website is up and running! Things went smoothly from a technical standpoint, but feel free to let us know if you run into any problems. Email us at rehobothumc@gmail.com and tell us what you think. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding. We're always working to make the Internet Ministry a more helpful tool for Rehoboth.
Pastoral Epistle 9-29-06

"Salt is good; but if salt has lost its saltiness, how can you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another."
Mark 9: 50
DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST are the salt God's put in the earth to season the world. Let's not lose the "saltiness" that makes us different, marking us as followers of Jesus.
THIS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1 is World Communion Sunday when our worship is focused around sharing the Sacrament of The Lord's Supper with believers all over the earth. The Rejoicers Choir, Ensemble and Singers will be leading music ministries at both 8:15 and 10:45 AM services this week. Come to God's House, prepared to come to the altar for a taste of God's goodness.
PRAYER NEWS YOU CAN USE: please pray for these Rehoboth family members who are currently hospitalized.
[Editor's Note: Names have been removed from this post for the sake of privacy. If you would like more information, e-mail Pastor Jim at jimswecker@myactv.net and ask to be put on the Rehoboth Mailing List. Then all Pastoral Epistles will be emailed to you.]
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL DAY the Lord has made just for you. Enjoy it and walk with God every step!
Love,
The Cherub of Love
